About the Owner
Hi, my name is Jennifer Henion. At 38, I've finally realized my dream of a career with dogs. While my formal degrees are in Philosophy and Psychology, I've studied and worked with dogs long enough to earn an informal degree in dog behavior.
I worked four years as a veterinary surgical assistant in Kansas City, Mo. and learned to care for animals under many different circumstances.
I've also studied extensively the body language of dogs, their behavioral cues to us and each other. I'm keenly aware of the history and motivations of nearly all breeds, but also know each dog is unique in personality.
My dogs Henry (10), Baboo (4) and George (12) have taught me much about the joys of being a dog and the challenges of being a naive puppy and an old arthritic. And truthfully, it was them that led me to open Red Rover Ranch. I wanted a place where they could live life to the fullest, have a job, have fun and interact with other dogs and dog lovers.
